Delhi BJP hosts event to express gratitude to Modi for 'double blessing' to residents of the capital
New Delhi: The BJP held a 'Thank You Modi ji' rally in north Delhi's Burari, expressing appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decisions to reinitiate land mutation in rural villages and eliminate the requirement for no objection certificates for power connections in certain areas of the city. Virendra Sachdeva, Delhi BJP chief, described these actions as a "Diwali gift" for residents of villages and unauthorized colonies, highlighting that these issues were resolved after their party's MPs met with LG VK Saxena. Sachdeva credited the Modi government for responding sensitively by removing the need for departmental NOCs for electricity connections in unauthorized colonies and non-conforming areas, as well as reopening property mutations in Delhi's villages after a long wait.
In response, AAP accused the BJP of attempting to claim credit for work done by their government and misleading the public. AAP pointed out that Delhi provides the cheapest electricity in the country and questioned why none of the 22 BJP-ruled states offer free electricity if they are genuinely concerned about the people. Despite AAP's criticism, Sachdeva emphasized that the BJP has been successful in advocating for the rights of the underprivileged and expressed confidence in winning the upcoming polls in Delhi. He also mentioned plans to extend electricity and water subsidies to middle-class households under the BJP government.
Sachdeva underscored that the restrictions on property transfers had hindered elders from passing down their properties to their children, and that the BJP's efforts led to the removal of these restrictions. Additionally, the requirement for DDA's NOC for electricity connections in unauthorized colonies was also eliminated. Sachdeva asserted that only those genuinely concerned about Delhi's welfare would understand the significance of these developments. The top priorities on the agenda include the implementation of the Prime Minister's housing scheme, Ayushman Bharat, and the regularization of temporary workers like home guards, bus marshals, and guest teachers. When asked about the demolition of slums by the AAP government, Sachdeva assured that no colony would be removed without offering alternate housing to its residents under the BJP's leadership. Additionally, he mentioned that the Nirmal Yamuna Plan aims to make the Yamuna pollution-free within a year.
